2008 White House Ornament at The President’s Cabinet
The 2008 White House Christmas ornament honoring President Benjamin Harrison (23rd President of the U.S., 1833-1901) in the series created by the White House Historical Association is offered in the Harrison Home’s gift shop. Inspired by Harrison’s Victorian Christmas tree replicated each Christmas at the Harrison Home, this 24-karat-gold-finished ornament interprets the first recorded tree to decorate the White House. The tree ornament is laden with baubles and garland, a showpiece of treats and toys in three-dimensional relief. Beneath the tree, the ornament depicts the presents the Harrison grandchildren received, including a toy train, a wooden sled, a rosy-cheeked doll and a dollhouse.
